How to maintain for long term storage (more than one week) and what are precautions?

  • Before turning off the power, perform cleaning of around the heads and the capping station and washing of the ink discharge passage. Depending on the situation, clean the head nozzle surface. *

Refer to “UJF-7151Daily Care”  to see the cleaning procedure for surroundings of the heads and the capping station.
Click here  to see the washing procedure for the ink discharge passage.

*Clean the nozzle surface only if nozzle dropout persist despite regular maintenance and daily cleaning.
Cleaning the nozzle surface is only allowed for those who have completed training with our technicians.
Performing maintenance without the necessary training can potentially result in damaging the printhead.

Refer to page 2 of “UJF-7151Daily Care”  to see the maintenance procedure for the head nozzle surface.

[Important]
- Confirm the followings before long-term storage.

(1) Leave the main power always turning “ON” even during long-term storage. The functions for preventing
clogged nozzle and ink sedimentation work automatically, if the main power switch is left “ON”.
If the main power switch is left “OFF” for a long time, the head nozzle may result in nozzle clogging.

(2) Check the amount of ink remaining in the ink bottle. Even in the regular maintenance during
long-term storage, very little ink is still consumed.
So we recommend setting the ink bottles with a sufficient remaining amount of ink to the printer.

(3) Dispose of ink in the waste ink tank. If the waste ink tank doesn’t have enough capacity,
it may result in overflow of the west ink tank during long-term storage.
